Is Jaw Clicking Normal?

Just because something is COMMON doesn't mean it's NORMAL

“My jaw clicks- Is that normal?”

“I only chew on one side because the other side hurts”

"My dentist told me to wear a night guard to see if it helps.”

Clicking every time you open and close your mouth isn't normal or healthy.

Only chewing on one side is a compensation pattern that will eventually lead to muscle and bite imbalances (and eventually clicking and finally pain)

Sleeping with a piece of plastic in your mouth in hopes that things get better isn't a holistic treatment plan. Night guards will protect your teeth from cracking, but they won't treat any underlying imbalances or dysfunction.

Pain is never normal. Pain is a (LATE) signal from your body that it needs attention

Healing can start when you stop normalizing pain and instead LISTEN to it.

Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and sometimes it feels like one stop forward and two steps back.

If this resonates—if you’re somewhere on this path too—stick around.
