What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Your body holds your story. Every habit, every belief, every “bracing for impact” moment lives somewhere in your tissues — often quietly shaping the way you breathe, clench, move, and respond to stress.

Craniosacral therapy and somatic bodywork give the body a chance to finally speak — and release what it has been holding.

This work isn’t done to you.
It’s done with you.
It’s collaborative, curious, and deeply respectful of your system’s pace.

If you're in Portland and looking for gentle care for pain, headaches, chronic tension, stress, burnout, or nervous system overwhelm — you're in the right place. Serving clients in Lake Oswego and Portland.

What to Expect in a Session

Craniosacral therapy sessions take place fully clothed, on a massage table. Touch is light and non-invasive.

1. Check-in

We begin with a conversation about what your body is holding today — what’s flaring, what feels tight, what’s shifting.

2. Hands-on work

You’ll lie fully clothed on a warm massage table.
Sessions involve very gentle hands-on work based in craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. Nothing is forced. Your body sets the pace.

3. Integration

Most clients feel lighter, more grounded, and deeply relaxed afterward — like their whole system has exhaled.

4. Practices for Home

I’ll often give you simple nervous-system and somatic exercises to support the work between sessions.

👉Clients begin with a six-session series to allow the body to unwind deeply and experience lasting change.

Somatic bodywork is a conversation with the body — a way of exploring the places where tension, emotions, or old beliefs are living in your tissues and shaping how you feel.

In session, we might gently incorporate:

  • Small movements

  • Breathwork

  • Subtle awareness practices

  • Occasional voice or sound

  • Questions to help you notice your patterns

Once you become aware of a holding pattern, your system can begin to change it. Awareness creates space — and space creates healing.

What Is Somatic Bodywork?

Apply! Craniosacral Therapy in Portland

Craniosacral therapy works directly with your fascia, fluid system, and subtle rhythms that influence how your entire nervous system functions.

I use an extremely gentle, slow approach designed to:

  • Release deep tension without force

  • Calm the fight-or-flight response

  • Improve mobility in the cranial bones and jaw

  • Create more space for your system to downshift

  • Reduce headaches, clenching, TMJ pain, and stress-related tension

This work is especially supportive if your body has spent years (or decades) in survival mode.

When fascia becomes restricted due to stress, trauma, dehydration, or lack of movement, the nervous system loses flexibility.

Why Somatic Bodywork + CST Works Long-Term

Because we’re not just treating the symptom.
We’re changing the pattern underneath it.

When you learn your body’s signals, understand your holding patterns, and give your system space to heal, you stop cycling through the same issues over and over.

This work creates lasting change because:

  • It addresses root causes

  • It retrains the nervous system

  • It improves functional patterns (jaw, breath, posture, swallow)

  • It helps you unwind old tension at its origin

This isn’t a quick fix.

Continued Care

Nervous system healing is generally a slow and gradual unwinding, thus most people benefit from ongoing support.

After you complete your initial 6-session series, we’ll decide together what level of continued care feels right for your body and your goals. You can choose to continue with another package, join a monthly membership for consistent support, or schedule drop-in sessions as needed.

Hypermobility and EDS in Portland Oregon

Hypermobility & EDS

Living with hypermobility or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) can make traditional bodywork uncomfortable—or even counterproductive.

Craniosacral Therapy offers a gentle alternative, using light touch and fascia listening to support your body without overstretching sensitive tissues.

As someone who understands the lived experience of hypermobility, this work is a personal passion for Becky.

These sessions can help calm the nervous system, reduce pain, and promote well-being and ease of movement.

Am I hypermobile?

  • Specialized experience with TMJ and jaw-related issues

  • Individualized treatment—not a one-size-fits-all protocol

I don’t believe in overriding the body. I believe in listening to it.
