Want to Heal Your Nervous System?

SLOW DOWN!

One of the most common coping strategies in our culture is craving chaos. Creating a busy life. Being always on the go. Over-filling our schedules. Saying yes to everything.

Here’s the crazy thing about stress and busy-ness: It becomes a habit. An addiction.

Stress isn’t just an emotional reaction but a physiological one, and the “high” that a hit of cortisol incites can become addictive.

The body loves what is familiar, so busy becomes our normal way of living. Our nervous system adapts, and we CRAVE it.

We begin to feel “bored” with quiet. Moments of empty space are met with restlessness-- a feeling that there is something we "should" be doing something.

Remember; Rest is productive. Rest is Resistance

When we can learn to sit with the unfamiliar, we will remember how peaceful stillness can be.

Leaning into quiet is life changing.

Start small! Next time you're in line at the grocery store and feeling that tug to reach for your phone, see if you can just BE in the boredom. Close your eyes. Breathe.

Craniosacral sessions can guide you into your parasympathetic nervous system INSTANTLY, so you can get out of “fight or flight” mode and start to SLOW DOWN.
